Because I was born in the year of the rabbit, the rabbit seemed a likely choice to represent me in this year's Challenge. I spent the first part of the year collecting rabbit beads and pendants.

My search yielded a variety of cute little bunnies but few rabbits. I settled on this pendant because I thought the rabbit looked playful and, at the same time, strong and independent, traits I admire. I love the earthy tones of the pendant and carried them into the beads of the necklace. The clay beads I made myself, a new venture for me. I chose a leaf for the clasp as it carries out the nature theme of the piece and reflects my love of nature.
